What We Beleive In

Friends of Mountain History believes that the preservation of Western North Carolina’s distinctive history is an anchor in a time of change. The organization is dedicated to serving as a taproot to the past so that present and future generations may develop a passion for and an understanding of our regional heritage and varied cultures and how these connect to our sense of self and community. As we commit to fostering respect and appreciation for our heritage and history among diverse peoples, we are motivated to build an alliance of committed individuals who are educated, funded, and dedicated to maintaining and preserving our cultural resources for all time.
